This bridge is one of two bridges that cross the Mississippi River Flood Diversion Channel north of Aitkin. This is the eastern most of the two bridges, built in 1956 when the diversion channel was constructed.

Despite being rated in good condition, the bridge still looks a bit rickety with the timber piers and such thin construction. Then again, this road does not get that much traffic, so it doesn't need to be a superhighway. The railings, however, are of a design that is no longer acceptable.
