Gemini 3 spacecraft on display at the Virgil I. Grissom Memorial
at Spring Mill State Park near Mitchell, Indiana. Gus Grissom
died in the Apollo 1 fire, and this museum is one of two memorials
near his hometown. The nickname, Molly Brown, is a bit of an inside
joke. Grissom’s Mercury capsule sank, nearly killing Grissom.
Hoping for better luck this time, the flight was named after the
Unsinkable Molly Brown.
